Where does the data come from?
All price benchmarks come from Statistics Canada Table 18-10-0245 — the official monthly survey of average retail prices across Ontario. It covers 110 products and is updated every month.
Why is this better than just reading flyers?
Flyers are designed to make every price look like a deal. "Was $8.99, now $6.99!" — but if the average price is $5.50, that's still expensive. We give you the actual benchmark so you know if the "sale" price is genuinely good or just regular retail with a sticker on it.
